Jean Patou created revolutionary high-end sportswear ranges for women in the 1920’s, invented the tennis skirt & the knit bathing suit, and also introduced the first tanning lotion. At the height of the depression in 1935 Jean Patou launched Joy, which was described by some at the time as ”the world’s most expensive perfume”.
